Mini Dogs + Baby Chicks = Pure Joy
Loulou and Coco are popular Instagram dogs. They are both miniature Dachshunds. Their account follows their adventures and showcases them meeting many other little animals. One of our favorite photos from their account is their recent encounter with baby chicks. It appears that they all love each other, except for one chick who wanted to take a bite out of the pup's tongue. Adorable!

Do(g)-It-Yourself No-Sew Dog Bandana
If you want an easy way to dress your dog up a bit and get them ready for holiday photos or fun outings, a no-sew bandana is a fantastic option. This is an easy project that doesn't require any seamstress capabilities.

DIY Bandana
You'll need: Fabric scraps (at least 14 x 14 inches), scissors, iron, hemming tape from a local craft store, and a dog collar
  1. Draw the outline for your bandana on the inside side of the fabric.
  2. Cut out two pieces. Keep them as close in size and shape as possible.
  3. Get each piece of fabric and fold in the edges about ½ inch and iron to hold the shape.
  4. Apply the hemming tape to one piece over the newly folded edges. Place the second piece of fabric on top and iron it into place.
  5. Grab the collar and fold the excess material at the top once to form a loop. Place hemming tape across the bandana to secure and iron the loop.
  6. You're all set to try it on the pup.

Meaningful Memorials for a Pet
While we would love every dog to live forever, pet parents usually face a hard day when it's time to say goodbye to their beloved pet. There are many stages of grief, and it can take a while to move through them. One of the best ways to ease the pain of loss is to honor your lost loved one.

Here are a few meaningful ways to memorialize your pet:
  • Plan a memorial service. Celebrate their life and take the opportunity to say goodbye. You can write a letter to your pet or speak about their life to your friends and family. Use photos and video clips as well.
  • Memorial jewelry. Many jewelry options allow you to keep your pet's ashes or a picture with you. Pick something that symbolizes your animal and the bond you had. You can also find pet urns that will hold your pet's ashes in your home with a photo or paw prints on them.
  • Memory boxes. Keep the small trinkets, toys, clothing, and other items in a box so you can feel closer to them.
  • Plaques and photo frames. Display a few of your favorite photos in your home. You can include your pet's name, years of life, and any special words.
  • Plant a tree. Whether you bury your pup or not, you can choose to plant a tree. Watering and caring for the tree might bring you peace and comfort.
  • Scatter ashes in a meaningful spot. If your pet had a favorite place, you might want to scatter their ashes there and visit whenever you want to be near them.
