Expert Dog Trainers on Their #1 Rule for Training
Training dogs takes patience and consistency. If you are considering adding a dog to your family, having a training plan is important. Not all of us can be professional dog trainers, so these three dog trainers shared their number one tip for anyone training their dog.
  • Reward the behavior you want. Positive reinforcement includes plenty of training treats, and you'll be handing out treats whenever your dog does something you want them to do. This method is proven to work better than negative reinforcement.
  • Consistency. Create a predictable routine for your dog. It's like a behavior road map, and your dog will learn what to do at certain times. Don't allow them to break the rules for a special occasion because they cannot tell the difference.
  • Remember your dog's Grade School Level (GSL). This is about meeting your dog where they are. Their level will indicate what they can do reliably and consistently. You may need to reduce distractions and physical distance between you and try again.
If you are struggling with training or feeling overwhelmed, contact a professional and work with them to create a training plan for your dog.

The Importance Of Health For You And Your Pup
In order to best take care of our dogs, it is important to make sure that we are healthy and happy. This includes staying well rested, having enough downtime, and avoiding skipping meals. However, one area that can be easy to let go unchecked is our alcohol consumption.

It can be hard to manage alcohol consumption, especially around the Holidays. With the Holiday season approaching, it is very common for people to drink more than they typically would. Unfortunately doing so may lead you to an unhealthy place.

The Benefits of a Bungee Leash
Leashes come in all shapes and sizes. The bungee style is becoming more and more popular because there are so many benefits. The leash has a stretchable section in the leash along with a handle closer to the dog that helps with control in tight situations.
  1. Shock absorption. This helps reduce sudden jolts when your dog pulls and makes sudden movements.
  2. Reduced strain on our arm and shoulder. When your dog pulls hard, it can hurt your arms and shoulders so this leash would help.
  3. Enhanced control. With multiple handles, you'll have more control of your dog's movements on walks. Use the closer handle when you need to keep them close to you.
  4. Comfort for the dog. The bungee helps your dog stay more comfortable, especially when they are pulling hard or changing directions.
  5. Easier training. This leash provides more forgiveness when you're training your dog to walk on the leash.
  6. Durability. Bungee-style leashes are constructed from high-quality materials and designed to withstand wear and tear.
  7. Hands-free options. These leashes come with the option to go hands-free. You can wear them around your waist or shoulder to keep your hands free to carry other items or give you better balance.
  8. Versatility. You can use a bungee-style leash for walks, jogs, hikes, and training. The reflective strips add safety in the darkness.
  9. Stress reduction. With a more comfortable walk, you'll face less stress when taking your dog for a walk. The whole experience will be more enjoyable.
