| | "Home is where the dog runs to greet you." - Unknown | | Happy Monday! Here's the scoop: | | Did You Know...? Joke: Why are Dalmatians so bad at hide and seek? (scroll to the bottom to find the answer!) | | | Invisible Dog Finds a Home A street puppy, Carlie, from the Cayman Islands showed up at the Humane Society of Broward County, Florida. There wasn't any information about her origin, but she obviously had some serious trauma. While in the shelter, she hid at the back of her cage so people had difficulty spotting her when they were touring the kennels. The staff members decided to help her out a bit by sharing The Invisible Dog story. They posted it on her kennel and shared it on Facebook. It helped Carlie find a forever home quickly when someone saw the online video and immediately knew she had to adopt that dog. We love a happy ending. | | Dog of the Day: Meet Dudley This photo came from our Daily Dig reader, Karen. This is Dudley. You might have your own interpretations of what your dog means, but if you've always wondered about this interesting behavior, we have some reasons why this happens in dogs. It could be intentional. Dogs use body language to communicate, and a wink can show playfulness. Read the other signals they are giving you when they wink to help you determine the meaning. Dogs can also be trained to wink. Many dogs try to mimic human behaviors, so if your dog has seen you wink a lot, they may copy you. Dogs may wink when they are tired or sleepy. In addition, some breeds are more likely to wink. Breeds like pugs and bulldogs have more prominent eyes that require more blinking. A winking dog could also have something in their eye or be experiencing dryness in one eye. If you think your dog is experiencing eye issues, consult your vet as soon as possible. | | Image courtesy of Basic Dog Mom | | How To Be As Chill As Your Dog Dogs have the wonderful ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as lounging in the sun, taking leisurely strolls, or curling up for a cozy nap. Unfortunately, achieving these peaceful moments as humans can be a bit more difficult. It can sometimes feel impossible to truly relax due to the stressors of everyday life. Cannabis, with its rich history of use for relaxation, has long been associated with providing a sense of calm and tranquility to those who partake in its consumption. Many individuals turn to cannabis as a means to unwind as it can promote a soothing and peaceful experience that eases both the mind and body. If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That's why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye. Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a "joint within a gummy" that's extremely potent yet federally legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body's endocannabinoid system. Although this system was discovered in the 1990s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid-onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes! Get 20% off your first order here. | | Thanks to Mood for sponsoring The Daily Dig.
