πŸ• is it raining dogs?

"Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job."

Happy Monday! Here's the scoop:
Did You Know...?
Joke: Why do dogs run in circles?

(scroll to the bottom to find the answer!)
Is It Raining Dogs?
Global News Toronto has had some interesting weather reports recently. The meteorologist was interrupted by his name, Storm. Anthony Farnell was a total professional and continued giving the weather report, but his dog wasn't giving up too easily. He wanted a treat, and he wanted it right away. Hopefully, that was the only Storm Farnell needed to point out on that day's weather.

Viewers loved this blooper and shared all kinds of photos of their own dogs tuning in to watch Storm's big debut. Maybe he'll get another chance soon for more screen time.

Dog of the Day: Meet Roman
Roman is working on getting on Santa's nice list, which I'm sure he'll have no problem doing. He is a nine-year-old Rottweiler. When he isn't waiting patiently in line to get his photo with Santa, Roman loves playing outside, hanging out at the dog park, and eating treats. Hope Santa brings him all his favorite snacks this year for the holidays. Thanks to our reader, Stephanie, for sending in a photo of this handsome boy.

Tips To Chill Out Your Pup
Just like us, our pups can be prone to stress from time to time. As loving owners, we always want to do what we can to make sure our pups are happy and calm! Here are some of our favorite ways to keep our pups relaxed when they start getting a little anxious:
  1. Establish a Routine: Dogs thrive on routine and predictability. Establish a consistent daily schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest.
  2. Create a Safe Space: Designate a quiet and comfortable area in your home where your dog can retreat when feeling overwhelmed.
  3. Provide Enrichment Activities: Mental stimulation is as important as physical exercise for dogs. Engage your pup with puzzle toys, treat dispensers, or interactive games to keep their minds active.
  4. Use Calming Products and Techniques: Consider using calming products such as pheromone diffusers, sprays, or calming collars that emit soothing scents. Classical music or calming sounds can have a positive impact on a dog's stress levels. Play these sounds when you're away to create a serene atmosphere.
Creating a relaxed environment for your dog involves a combination of routine, positive reinforcement, and environmental considerations. By implementing these tips, you can contribute to your dog's overall well-being and ensure they lead a happy, stress-free life.
Our Tip To Chill You Out...
If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That's why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a "joint within a gummy" that's extremely potent yet federally legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body's endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid-onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes! Check out Mood today!

Ideas to Add to Your Dog's Holiday Gift List
Holiday shopping can be a bit overwhelming when you have a long list of people (and pets) to shop for. If you're looking for some new ideas for the canines in your life, try one of these ideas to wrap up under the tree:
  1. A comfortable new bed. Find a bed with fleece lining to add a little extra coziness to the bed. If dogs use their beds often, they can wear out, so it's always nice to have something new.
  2. Long-lasting bones. Pick out a festive chew toy in a fun holiday flavor to give your dog something special to enjoy while everyone else is snacking on cookies and holiday treats.
  3. Festive treats. Grab a bag or two of a new treat for your dog. Find something smaller that you can use while training or during playtime.
  4. A new collar. Update the look your dog is rocking. Pick something with reflective tape for evening walks. You can find collars in every color and pattern now.
  5. Squeaky toys. While they might annoy humans, dogs love squeaky toys. The sound awakens their natural prey drive because it sounds like something being captured.
  6. A soft blanket. Like the bed, you can pick out a new blanket that is just for your dog. They'll love having a nice cozy blanket to curl up under during winter.
  7. New dog bowls. Make mealtime more exciting by switching out their dog bowls. Get something personalized with their name on it so they know they don't have to share.
  8. Balls. Playing fetch is a fun way to connect with your dog. Wrap up some new tennis balls, head to the backyard, and play fetch until you've worn them out. These are inexpensive but loved by all dogs.

  2. "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein: Narrated by a philosophical dog named Enzo, this novel provides a unique perspective on life, love, and the human experience. Enzo reflects on his life with race car driver Denny Swift and the lessons he learns along the way.

  5. "The Call of the Wild" by Jack London: This classic novel follows the journey of Buck, a domestic dog stolen from his home in California and sold into the brutal life of an Alaskan sled dog during the Klondike Gold Rush. It explores the primitive instincts and resilience of dogs in the wild.
