Neighborhood Kids Help a Golden Retriever in Need
Stevie, a lovable five-year-old Golden Retriever, was unfortunately involved in an accident back in September. The dog was struck by a motorcycle in the community while greeting one of her favorite humans as she was returning from work. The motorcycle took off, and the owner's daughter was miraculously able to get the pup to the hospital right away.

The accident put Stevie in the intensive care unit for six days with a punctured lung and fractured ribs. The surgery she received thankfully saved her life, however the vet bills added up to $13,000. That's when nine of the kids in the neighborhood stepped in. They set up a lemonade stand and sold cookies, brownies, water, and lemonade. Using photos of Stevie as their signs, they also added QR codes to make it easy for people to give money.

The kids raised $400 and handed it over to help cover a portion of Stevie's bills. Serrano, her owner, remembers crying because it was so special to receive such thoughtful community support. The children even came to visit Stevie while she was in recovery. This inspiring and heartfelt story made waves, causing more people to seek out ways to offer their assistance. Their eagerness to help led to the creation of a GoFundMe, and the full $13,000 was raised to cover the bill. It's incredible how the community rallied together to help this one-of-a-kind pup.

Stories like this are a reminder of the way dogs can unite us, regardless of our differences. We truly love to see it.

Is a Yorkshire Terrier Right For You?
The Yorkshire Terrier, often known as a Yorkie, is a small dog with a big personality. They were originally bred to catch rats in the 19th century. The original version of the breed was a bit bigger than they typically are today, but their popularity is definitely not small.

The Yorkie typically weighs seven pounds or less and stands between seven and ten inches tall. Their coats are tan and a dark steel blue color, and its texture is long and flowy. Regular upkeep is necessary to keep the hair clean and in good shape. Some owners even put their dog's hair into a top knot.

Yorkies can be a bit timid at first towards strangers, but they are incredibly affectionate towards the people in their lives. They make fantastic house pets and don't need much exercise, so they are great for apartments as well. Their attitudes can make them a bit stubborn and overly confident.

If you are considering a Yorkie, it's important to know that they are not the best for small children. Because of their size, they are fragile and cannot be played with too hard. They also struggle in cold climates and often have clothes to stay warm. Stock up on some adorable jackets and check the listings to see if you can find the right dog for you!

How To Make Your Dog Feel Relaxed
Creating a serene environment for your canine companion is essential for their well-being. To ensure your dog remains relaxed, consider the following tips:
  • Regular Exercise: Engage your dog in daily physical activity, such as walks or playtime, to release excess energy and promote relaxation.
  • Comfortable Space: Provide a comfortable and quiet space for your dog to retreat to, with a cozy bed or blanket for relaxation.
  • Routine and Consistency: Dogs thrive on routine. Establish a consistent schedule for feeding, walks, and play, creating a predictable environment that promotes a sense of security.
  • Gentle Affection: Offer gentle petting and affection, reinforcing the bond between you and your dog. Massage and brushing can also be soothing.
  • Calming Sounds and Scents: Play soft music or use calming scents like lavender to create a tranquil atmosphere, helping your dog feel at ease.
By incorporating these practices into your daily routine, you can foster a relaxed and contented environment for your furry friend.
How To Make Yourself Feel More Relaxed
If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That's why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a "joint within a gummy" that's extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body's endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990's, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes! Learn more here.

How to Stop a Dog Fight Safely
Even well-mannered dogs might get into a scuffle at the dog park. Dogs, like humans, experience fear and anxiety, which can lead to aggression among themselves. They might get defensive or protective over their people or space. While we all hope this never happens, it's good to be prepared if there is a situation where conflict arises.

Most importantly, it's good to prevent stressed dogs from fighting. If your dog gets stressed, work on positive reinforcement and training methods that reward dogs for good behavior. Avoid places and situations that might trigger your dog and raise their stress levels. If you have concerns, you can muzzle your dog to protect them and others.

If a situation does start between dogs, your first instinct will likely be to step in and physically intervene, but that can be dangerous. Start by trying to distract the dogs. Use loud noises or even spray the pups with water. You just need their attention long enough to separate them. Use an object to separate them, such as a piece of cardboard. The last step is to pull your dog away. Stay away from their mouth; lift up their back legs and pull them backward like a wheelbarrow.

Trainers advise not ever to let dogs "fight it out." Instead, it's important to protect them and work on prevention. If there is an unsafe situation at home, rehoming the dog might be the most responsible choice. Trainers can help with behavior problems, but safety for everyone is the most important.
