πŸ• finally someone explains dog math

"If you don't own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life."
- Roger Caras

Happy Wednesday! Here's the scoop:
Did You Know...?
True or False: Ancient Egyptians shaved their heads when their dogs died as part of their mourning ritual.

Dog Math Explained
Maybe you've seen the viral videos explaining girl math and boy math, but have you had anyone explain dog math to you? Watch this video; it might make much more sense to you. We think one of the best lines is the one that states one dog walking outside the front of the house equals 40 dragons trying to attack us.

Recipe: Do(g)-It-Yourself Chocolate Bark
OK, it's not really chocolate. We all know that dogs cannot have chocolate. But this recipe will allow you to make a sweet treat for your pup this holiday season that looks similar to something that the humans would enjoy.

Raspberry Carob Bark
You'll need: 2 ½ cups of plain yogurt drops, 2 ½ cups of natural carob drops, 75 grams of raspberries, and a half cup of desiccated coconut
  1. Line an 11 x 7 pan with baking paper.
  2. Melt the carob drops in a small bowl over boiling water. Stir it constantly. Pour the melted carob evenly into the pan until the bottom is covered.
  3. Melt the yogurt drops in a small bowl in the same way. Pour ½ of the mixture into the pan on top of the carob layer.
  4. Scatter raspberries and coconut throughout the pan mixture and pour the remaining melted yogurt on top.
  5. Place in the refrigerator to set. Leave for at least 45 minutes or until it's firm.
  6. Break into pieces and serve.

Which Breeds Cost the Least to Take Care Of?
Dogs come with a price that goes well beyond the initial adoption. There are vet appointments, grooming, and regular food to pay for. But not all dogs hit the top of the budget range, some breeds come with a lower average price tag over time because they are lower maintenance or have fewer health issues. Adoption is usually a lower price as well, and you are giving dogs a second chance to find a forever home.

Cheapest Dog Breeds to Maintain
  • Chihuahua - This breed has a long lifespan and their small size requires less food. They also don't require much grooming.
  • Australian Cattle Dog - Also known as the Blue Heeler, this breed is not prone to many health problems. They need a lot of exercise and very little grooming.
  • German Wirehaired Pointer - This is a very hardy breed. The larger size may require more food, but there is little grooming for GWPs.
  • Pembroke Welsh Corgi - As a low-maintenance smaller breed, you don't need as much food, and they don't require frequent trips to the groomers.
  • Border Terrier - This terrier was first bred for hunting. They have long lifespans and are typically healthy and spunky. It's a bonus that they are very trainable.
  • Greyhound - Despite their reputation for being fast, these dogs are laidback, gentle, and low-maintenance.
  • Rat Terrier - These healthy and smart pups are easy to train, which helps you skip the obedience classes. You can also groom them at home with baths.
  • Manchester Terrier - This breed is one of the healthiest small breeds, which helps save money at the vet. They are highly intelligent and remain small, reaching a height of around 16 inches in total.
  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier - These pups can be found at shelters, and they are loving and healthy dogs. The short coat requires some brushing but is otherwise low-maintenance.
  • Bolognese - These smaller pups don't have huge appetites; plus, they have long lifespans due to their robust health.
