🐕 A tasty gingerbread treat

"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog."
- Edward Hoagland

Happy Friday! Here's the scoop:

What is the Difference Between Labs and Weimaraners?
Labradors and Weimaraners are both active sporting breeds. They have so much in common and it's not unusual for families looking for the right breed to have both of these options in consideration. We know how different each puppy can be as they form their own unique personalities, but breeds can have some specific personality traits that are more common.

Both breeds are known for being friendly. They love affection and attention from people, so they make great family dogs. Obedience training is a good idea. These breeds will respond well to training and positive reinforcement.

So what are the differences? One owner who is lucky enough to have one of each shares that the Weimaraners take "high-energy" to the next level. She said that her Weimaraner needed to get some hard running in every single day for the first five years. These dogs are bred for hunting, so they are meant to cover large distances on foot.

Weimaraners are also larger than labs on average. They have shorter coats, so they appear to be a bit slimmer. The colors are unique on the Weimaraners as well. It's a dark gray color that almost appears blue. Labs come in black, yellow, or chocolate.

If you are considering these two breeds, you'll want to ensure you can provide the pup with enough exercise to keep them calm and relaxed. Labs will have an easier time settling down than Weimaraners. Both options are fantastic family dogs and will provide you with lots of great memories.

Recipe: Do(g)-It-Yourself Festive Canine-Friendly Gingerbread Cookies
Gingerbread cookies are one of our favorite holiday treats, and we've found a safe recipe to spoil your dog with this holiday season. You will have to decide if you want a person-shaped cookie cutter or a dog-shaped cookie cutter. While regular gingerbread cookies are not safe for dogs because of the nutmeg that is included in the recipes, have no fear: This recipe will make sure our pups don't miss out on this incredible holiday treat.

Gingerbread Dog Treat Recipe
You'll need: 1 ¼ cups of water, ¼ cup of olive oil, ½ cup of molasses, two tablespoons of honey, three cups of organic whole wheat flour, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of ground cloves, and one tablespoon of finely chopped fresh ginger
  1. Grab two large bowls. In one bowl, combine the water, olive oil, molasses, and honey. In the other bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon, cloves, and chopped ginger.
  2. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet and mix until everything is combined.
  3. Divide the dough into two sections. Wrap them and refrigerate for at least three and a half hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Roll out dough to ¼ inch thickness. Use the cookie cutter to cut out the biscuits. Place them on a baking tray. Bake for 10-15 minutes.
This recipe makes around 20 large cookie treats. These can be frozen in an airtight container for up to three months.

Can You Match The Name To The Pup?
Meet Peanut Butter, Strawberry, Cookie Dough, and Bourbon. All cuties but which one is which? Take your best guess and see below for the answers!
Peanut Butter, Strawberry, Cookie Dough, and Bourbon...
You've probably seen the news: there's a bourbon shortage.

But how did this happen?

The answer might surprise you - flavored whiskey.

Flavored whiskey is a trendy new category of whiskey with flavors like peanut butter, strawberry, and cookie dough. (Basically, dessert in a bottle.)

But there's a problem. Flavored whiskey uses 6 to 18-month-old casks. These casks could, would, and should be great bourbon 4+ years from now. Instead, producers are using this premature whiskey to make lower-quality flavored whiskey and disrupting the supply chain.

Here's how you can take advantage of this trend. Vinovest enables you to invest in traditional high-rye bourbon. These casks will be held for 5 years to ensure that they become great bourbon, and Vinovest will take care of storage, insurance and eventual selling of your whiskey.

It's time to bottle your wealth. Get started in under 5 minutes at Vinovest.co.

Some Dogs Will Curl Up Anywhere
This husky might have been jealous of their new baby brother or sister, or maybe the dog just wanted a nice, warm place to curl up for a nap. But the humans caught the dog curling up in the baby's car seat. It's quite impressive that this large dog could contort its body to fit in this seat, but it's clear that the spot was too cozy and comfortable for the husky to resist!
