Healthcare Workers Need All the Love and Thanks
This adorable video is a great reminder of how much healthcare workers do for the community. This Golden Retriever was able to visit his human, a resident who was in the middle of a 28-hour shift. That quick visit and surprise dinner was a perfect pick-me-up for this doctor.

How to Help If Your Dog Isn't Eating
It's completely natural to be concerned if your dog has stopped eating their food. There are many reasons why they may be lacking an appetite. If it lasts for more than 24 hours, you should contact your vet, but there are a few other signs to watch for.

If your pup is still drinking water and acting normal, you may not need to seek emergency help. Each dog has their own unique eating habits. If your dog never misses a single kernel, it's likely an issue if they skip a meal. Some dogs pick at their food a bit more, which might just be temporary.

Here are a few reasons to consider:
  • Issue with their food or their bowl. Dogs have food preferences just like humans. If you've made a change, they might not like it. It's also possible for dogs to get bored eating the same food all the time. The location of your dog's bowl can also make an impact.
  • Anxiety. Stress and anxiety can lead to loss of appetite. It's one of the most common reasons. There could be separation issues, changes to the environment, travel, and even issues with new noises.
  • Grief and depression. Dogs suffer when there's a loss in the family. It can trigger behavioral changes and lead to appetite loss.
  • Health conditions and illness. It's important to rule out any health issues when your dog isn't eating. It could be dental issues, stomach pain, infections, and side effects from medication.
If your dog isn't eating or drinking, they could become dehydrated. Dogs should drink one ounce of water per pound of body weight each day. If they are not drinking, contact your vet right away. Try offering them ice cubes or water with bone broth. Once you have a treatment plan from your vet, you can get your pup back to their routine.
