A Slideshow of a Budding Friendship on a Plane
Imagine boarding a flight and discovering that the seat in front of you is filled with an adorable and super-friendly pup. This person lucked out and enjoyed that exact scenario. They decided to take out their phone and snap photos throughout the flight and upload this slideshow to Instagram for all of us to enjoy. It's one of the sweetest things we've seen on a plane in a long time.

What We're Digging
You've probably seen chef-made fresh dog food… it costs more than your meal, is messy, and requires an extra freezer. And remembering to defrost it? Good luck.

Sundays removes those hassles, while still getting Fido (or Daisy, or Buddy, or insert your dog's name here) off feed-grade burned kibble.

Sundays air-dried food uses human-grade ingredients, dried for maximum flavor, yet can be stored in the pantry. No mess, no freezer, and best of all, up to 40% cheaper than fresh frozen food from the internet.

The Daily Dig readers' dogs get 35% off their first order for a limited time or a free sample (just pay shipping). Tell your dog happy chewing!

The Perfect Do(g)-It-Yourself Cupcake Topper
If you're throwing your dog a birthday party and making some cupcakes for the canine guests, consider adding this adorable little cupcake topper to personalize the treats. They are easy to create on your own and make the party extra special.

DIY Cupcake Topper
You'll need: a color printer, full-size sticker paper or plain paper, toothpicks, scissors, and a glue stick (if using plain paper).
  1. Lay out the picture you want in a 1 ½ x 1 ½ inch circle and print three times.
  2. Cut out each picture and fold each circle in half.
  3. Attach the toothpick to the back of one circle in the middle. Add the other two by attaching the middle lines to the toothpick. This will create a 3D topper.
  4. Insert the other end of the toothpick into the cupcake, and you're ready to serve!

Find Out Which Breeds Are More Susceptible to Heat Stroke
Summer is here. It's fun for us and our dogs, but at certain temperatures, it can take a dangerous turn. Dogs pant a lot more when it's warm outside. That's similar to us sweating, and it's how they eliminate heat from their bodies. If they can't regulate their body temperature, they can suffer from heat stroke.

Signs of a heat stroke in dogs include heavy panting, difficulty breathing, elevated temperature, excessive drooling, dry or sticky gums, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, uncoordinated movement, or seizures.

Six breeds are most at risk of heat stroke, but any dog can suffer from this, so it's good to know the signs. Here are the breeds with the highest risk:
  • Chow Chow.
  • English Bulldog.
  • French Bulldog.
  • French Mastiff.
  • Greyhound.
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
If you are concerned your pup might be suffering from heat stroke, move them to a cooler environment immediately. Pour cool water over their body and provide fresh cool water for them to drink. Keep air flowing around them. And get them to the vet as soon as possible for treatment.

Did You Know:
Answer: False!

The name of the Schipperke can be translated to mean "little boatman," but in some dialects in Brussels — where the dog originated — the word schepe means "shepherd." Some breed enthusiasts believe that the name "little shepherd" is much more accurate.
