Throw a Dog Safe Pool Party This Summer One of the Pinterest trends of 2023 is pool parties for dogs, and the searches for ideas have increased by 490%. We love this idea! The best pool party is a safe one, so here are a few tips and tricks to throw a dog pool pawty this summer that is safe for the pups: Utilize kiddie pools. Not all dogs are comfortable in deeper water, so providing some shallow pools for dogs to lounge in and get used to the water is best. Provide life jackets for the pool swimmers. Just like humans, dogs should always use a life jacket to stay safe. Only use water toys. Some dog toys may become a choking hazard if they get wet, so it's best to use toys that are made for water. Remind pups to eat at least four hours before swimming or right afterward. This will avoid any potty accidents in the pool or any bloating. Elevated dog beds are best for hot days. You don't want a wet dog on your lap, but providing elevated beds will allow the breeze to move underneath and keep them cool. Provide cool treats for the dogs. There are great slushies, popsicles, and ice cream recipes for dogs, and cold snacks can help keep them comfortable on hot days. Keep an eye on the pups to make sure none are overheating.
