Watch the Transformation of this Rescued Pit Bull
Margo was a stray pit bull that was picked up by a rescue. She weighed over 120 lbs and was extremely overweight. One Love Arizona worked to get her healthy. Over an eight-month period, she lost over 50 lbs and could finally participate in normal dog activities. She has surpassed her goal weight now and got her hypothyroidism under control. Recipe: Do(g)-It-Yourself Cinnamon & Honey Donuts for Dogs
Dogs shouldn't be left out on weekend mornings when the family indulges in donuts from a local bakery. This dog-friendly recipe will give them a fun snack to enjoy alongside their family! The recipe makes six donuts; you can make it even fancier with a dog-friendly topping, like drizzled carob or raspberries.

Dog-friendly Donuts
You'll need: 1 cup of wholemeal flour, 1 tsp of cinnamon, ½ cup of applesauce, one free-range egg (beaten), 2 tbsp of honey, 3 tbsp of warm water, and 50 grams of plain yogurt drops.
  1. Combine flour and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  2. Add applesauce, honey, and egg to a small bowl and whisk until well combined.
  3. Add the wet and dry ingredients to mix to form a thick batter.
  4. Mix in the warm water if the batter is too dry.
  5. Fill each donut mold to the top.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through. Allow to cool.
  7. Melt the yogurt drops in a small heat-safe bowl over boiling water.
  8. Dip each donut in the yogurt and set it on a baking sheet to set.

Five Ways to Help Your Rescue Dog Get Over Their Past
Rescue dogs come from all types of environments and backgrounds. If your family is adopting a rescue dog, it's important to consider where they have been and how life has treated them in the past. Consider these five ways to help your pup adjust and settle into their new home.
  • Know their triggers. Learn as much as you can about their background, and be careful not to repeat any of the behaviors.
  • Practice patience. The dogs may be a bit unruly while they get adjusted, so just be patient with them.
  • Be consistent. Dogs need routine and consistency with training. They will feel safe and secure with consistent behavior from you.
  • Offer affection. It may take a little time for your pup to accept the love, but keep offering scratches, pets, and kind, calm words of encourangement.
  • Consider help from a specialist. Some dogs might be extra challenging, and contacting a professional trainer to work with you and your rescue pup is always OK.
