Meet the Newest Dog Show Champion
The National Dog Show judges couldn't get enough of Stache at this year's show. He is a Sealyham terrier who took home the best-in-show award at the Great Philadelphia Expo Center. His handler, Magery Good, told commentators that she was extremely proud of his wonderful performance. Stache beat out the other finalists, including a German shepherd, a Great Dane, a Dalmatian, a Chesapeake Bay retriever, a Shih Tzu, and an Azawakh.

The National Dog Show has been held for more than 125 years. Over the years, more than 2,000 dogs have competed across 205 breeds. Last year's winner was a three-year-old French bulldog named Winston. This prestigious prize includes $20,000 and the honor of carrying that title until next year's dog is crowned. Congrats to Stache! Enjoy your winnings!

What Makes Rescuing So Difficult?
It's not uncommon to hear people complain about the challenges of rescuing a dog. Many rescue organizations prioritize compatibility, so they require several strict guidelines to be met before allowing a dog to be placed in a home. If you've felt this frustration, you are not alone.

One thing to consider is the facility you're adopting from. Shelters managed by cities or counties typically have a less complicated process than some private organizations. Some even allow people to bring home a rescue dog the same day. However, these facilities face challenges with space and capacity, and have fewer resources to ensure the best placement for each animal. Because of this, some shelters have a high return rate for animals.

Foster-based organizations focus on compatibility with each placement. They want to make sure that dogs are a good fit forever. Applications are more in-depth, and there's more red tape. The animals are in foster homes, so they have a safe place to learn and grow while waiting for the right family to be approved.

During the pandemic, many families were eager to use the time spent inside to bring an animal home. Shelters were cleared out, and breeders had waiting lists. But many of the animals ended up being surrendered because they weren't ready for the responsibility of a puppy. Rescue organizations work hard to build relationships with the pets and learn their specific needs.

Trust the process if you are searching for the right dog to bring home. Rescue organizations will work hard to ensure you know exactly what to expect. Research each organization's adoption policies, ask questions, and make sure your home is ready for a dog. With patience, you'll find the right fit for your family and be someone's forever home!

The Benefits of Puzzle Toys for Canine Relaxation
In the world of canine care, mental stimulation is just as crucial as physical exercise. Puzzle toys have emerged as valuable tools for promoting mental relaxation in our furry friends. These interactive toys not only provide entertainment but also offer a range of benefits for a dog's cognitive well-being.

Puzzle toys engage a dog's natural problem-solving instincts, challenging them to figure out how to access treats or toys hidden within the puzzle. This mental stimulation is not only entertaining but also acts as a form of enrichment, preventing boredom and associated behavioral issues.

As dogs work to solve the puzzles, they tap into their innate intelligence, promoting cognitive development and mental agility. This mental exercise is particularly beneficial for senior dogs or those with limited physical activity, keeping their minds sharp and active.

Moreover, puzzle toys can be excellent stress relievers. The focused and determined effort required to solve the puzzle redirects a dog's attention away from anxiety triggers, promoting a sense of accomplishment and relaxation.

Incorporating puzzle toys into a dog's routine is a simple yet effective way to enhance mental well-being. Whether it's a classic treat dispenser or a sophisticated interactive puzzle, these toys are a valuable addition to any dog owner's toolkit for fostering a mentally relaxed and content canine companion.

Tips For Human Relaxation
If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That's why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a "joint within a gummy" that's extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body's endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990's, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!

🐾 Pick the Pup Results
One of These is Not Like the Others
Every dog has its favorite toys. The corgi in this video is no different. When the pup saw the toys lying on the ground, it decided to mimic what these stuffed pups were doing. All three dogs hang out on their backs with their legs straight up in the air. It's almost like this dog didn't want his mom to see him hanging out and just wanted to blend in. Can you tell which one is the living, breathing dog?

Why Fish Oil Is Beneficial For Pups
Fish oil has become a staple in many pet owners' arsenal for promoting optimal health in dogs, and for good reason. Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), fish oil offers a myriad of benefits that contribute to the overall well-being of our four-legged companions.

First and foremost, omega-3 fatty acids play a crucial role in supporting a dog's joint health. They possess potent anti-inflammatory properties that can help manage conditions such as arthritis, promoting increased mobility and comfort, especially in aging or active dogs.

Beyond joint support, fish oil is a powerhouse for skin and coat health. The omega-3s contribute to a lustrous coat and moisturized skin, reducing itching and promoting a healthier, shinier appearance. This is particularly beneficial for dogs prone to skin allergies or conditions like dry, flaky skin.

Moreover, fish oil is renowned for its positive impact on cognitive function. DHA, in particular, is a key component in brain development and maintenance, potentially aiding in enhancing cognitive function and staving off age-related cognitive decline in senior dogs.

Incorporating fish oil into a dog's diet is a simple and effective way to boost their overall health. Whether through liquid supplements or capsules, providing the recommended dosage ensures that your furry friend reaps the full spectrum of benefits, from joint and skin health to cognitive support. Consultation with a veterinarian is advised to determine the appropriate dosage based on the dog's size, breed, and individual health needs.
