| | "What do dogs do on their day off? Can't lie around—that's their job!" - George Carlin | | Happy Wednesday! Here's the scoop: | | Did You Know...? How many categories of dog breeds are there? (scroll to the bottom to find the answer!) | | | The Governor's Dog Creates Quite a Stir It can't be easy being the dog of a politician. People expect you to be well-behaved and ready for public appearances all the time, but maybe you just want a lazy day. It's possible that's what happened to the dog of the Minnesota governor, Tim Walz, or maybe this was all just an accident. Walz was traveling when he received some worrisome texts from his wife at home. She told him that their dog, Scout, had locked himself in their bedroom, and no one had a key. Next, she shared photos of people on ladders working to get themselves into their bedroom through the window to help free the dog. During the whole episode, Scout was sleeping on the bed and didn't seem too concerned with all the attention. Walz shared the entire saga on his Twitter account and followed up with a "free at last" message when they got the dog out of the locked room. They've removed the lock from the door so this doesn't happen again. This isn't Scout's first mishap that was made public. Right before a press conference in 2020, Scout ate the governor's glasses, making it hard for him to read his notes. Don't worry though, the family absolutely loves this dog. He was adopted when the governor promised his son that he would get a dog if he won the election to become governor. It's great to see a politician keeping his campaign promises.
