Billy Ray Cyrus Thanks Dog for Finding His Wife
Billy Ray Cyrus married his new wife, Firerose, on October 10, and he credits his dog with this pairing. The couple told Kelly Clarkson that his dog brought them together when he was on her show for a recent interview.

Firerose explains that she was walking out of an interview in Hollywood and crossed paths with Cyrus and his dog, Tex. It was while he appeared in the show Hannah Montana, and he loved taking breaks to walk the dog.

Firerose distinctly remembers Tex being the most beautiful German Shepherd and firmly believes Tex tapped into some divine purpose. While chatting with Cyrus, she told him she'd had an audition for a part she didn't get. He decided to help her out and put her in touch with some producers and executives he knew.

The pair became great friends for years and just recently tied the knot. No more Achy Breaky Heart for Cyrus. Congrats to the happy couple! This is some wise advice to our readers—listen to your dog's intuition about people.

Five Reasons Being A Dog Mom Is The Best
No matter when you bring home your first dog, it changes you as a person. Dog moms quickly find out how special their four-legged companions are. Whether you fell in love with a puppy, or an older dog featured on a rescue site, you know when it's the right match.

If you aren't yet a dog mom, or you want to understand this magical bond better, here are five reasons why it's wonderful to be a dog mom:
  1. Your photo folder will be packed full of the most adorable photos you can pull out to show your friends and family. It's the best opportunity to brag about your pup, bringing an instant smile to your face, even when you're apart.
  2. There's always an excuse to get out of a situation. If you're stuck somewhere and want to leave, you can always use the excuse that you have to let the dog out or feed them.
  3. Your pup will always keep you on your toes. Things will never be boring. Everything your dog does will entertain you. New toys, adorable sleeping positions, and mischievous moments will forever amuse you.
  4. You'll get creative with inside jokes and nicknames. Dogs come with a whole new set of vocab words. Before you know it, you'll have multiple names for your pup, plus every toy they own and all their favorite places and people.
  5. You can talk to yourself. Obviously, this is okay because you aren't actually talking to yourself, you're talking to your dog. It helps fill the silence at home as you narrate your day and enjoy these one-way conversations.
We could list a thousand more reasons why having a dog is great, but hopefully, these gave you a little joy today.

Tasty Vegan Treats for Your Dog
Dogs love treats of all kinds, including these healthy vegan treats. If you've been wanting to make something at home, but you follow a vegan diet, or just want to use some ingredients you likely already have, these are perfect. You can even use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make it perfect for Valentine's Day!

Raspberry Peanut Butter Treats
You'll need: One mashed banana, ½ cup + two tablespoons of whole wheat flour, ⅓ cup of peanut butter, ¼ cup of unsweetened applesauce, and ¼ cup of freeze-dried raspberries powdered.
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients together until a dough forms. If it won't stick together as a ball, add a bit of applesauce until it forms a ball.
  3. Place the dough on a sheet of parchment paper. Roll it out until it's about ¼ an inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter (or whatever cookie cutter you have). You can place cookies close together because they do not spread.
  4. Put the tray in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove and transfer to a wire rack to cool. Once they have completely cooled, feed them to your pup.

Pawsitive Vibes: The Psychological Benefits of Dog Ownership
Owning a dog is more than just having a pet; it's a profound experience that can significantly impact mental well-being. Research consistently highlights the multitude of psychological benefits associated with dog ownership. One of the most prominent advantages is the companionship dogs provide, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation.

The unconditional love and unwavering loyalty of dogs create a sense of purpose and responsibility, which can boost self-esteem and promote a positive outlook on life. Furthermore, the daily routine of caring for a dog encourages physical activity and outdoor time, leading to improved mood and reduced stress levels.

Interacting with dogs also releases oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine—neurotransmitters associated with happiness and relaxation. This chemical response helps to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, making dog ownership an effective form of natural therapy.

Moreover, dogs are intuitive creatures that can sense their owner's emotions, offering comfort and support during times of distress. Their presence has been shown to lower heart rate and blood pressure, promoting overall cardiovascular health.

In essence, the psychological benefits of dog ownership extend far beyond mere companionship. They enrich our lives, foster emotional resilience, and bring boundless joy into our homes. So, the next time you see a wagging tail or feel a wet nose nuzzle against your hand, remember the pawsitive impact that dogs have on our mental well-being.
