Have Crocs Gone Too Far?
People tend to either love or hate Crocs shoes, but their popularity has not been affected by those who do not subscribe to this trend. Some people have even considered the shoe the "ultimate shoe" and the most comfortable footwear available.

It's hard to argue that these easy-to-clean and comfortable shoes are the best for the dog park. Someone has taken this idea a step further by creating their first line of croc-style shoes for dogs. These shoes come in blue, green, pink, and yellow. You can purchase a pair to match if you want. The company admits that the shoes are just for fun and aren't really practical or comfortable for walks or actual dog park playtime since a dog's foot is shaped and functions much differently than a human's.

But if you're looking for a fun photo opportunity where you can match your pup, you can now even match your footwear

Six Reasons to Consider Adopting a Dog
If you're considering adding a dog to your family, there are many reasons to consider adopting a dog from the shelter. These pups are loyal, gentle, and just looking for a family to love them. It's worth considering adoption for these top reasons:
  1. You know what you're getting. When adopting a rescue dog, you get the chance to meet the dog and get to know their personalities. Shelter employees and foster dog parents are able to answer questions about the dog's routine and temperament to help you find the best fit for your lifestyle.
  2. Minimal training is needed. Shelter dogs already have some training completed. Many of these pups are already housetrained, and you will save yourself the overnight wake-up calls to let the puppy out.
  3. You're helping a dog that truly needs you. You are giving a dog a home and helping to clear the shelter space so they can rescue more dogs.
  4. Puppies require a lot of work. Bringing home a new puppy comes with a lot of time and attention. Most people just think about how cute puppies are, but you have to work with them nonstop and help them learn all the boundaries and keep them safe. Rescue dogs are typically out of that stage of life.
  5. It will help put an end to harmful puppy mills. Each time you rescue a dog instead of buying a puppy, you're helping to eliminate the need for disreputable breeders and puppy mills.
  6. Rescue dogs know that you've rescued them. You'll receive love and respect from your dog once they realize you're providing them with a home, food, and safety.
We will be featuring some great rescue organizations throughout the month of January. You can also google animal shelters near me to find an adoption spot near you.

Protective Cat Refuses to Share Her Dog
Cartoons and comics would make you believe that dogs and cats are constantly at odds, but that isn't always true. In this video, you'll see a very protective cat who doesn't want anyone to put their paws on the dog. Each time the human tries to pet the dog, the cat swats their hand away with a quick paw jab. The caption just reads, "Do not touch." We love seeing these animals' friendship and bond, and we're sure plenty of readers have dogs and cats at home with a special bond.
