Two Dogs Helped to Bring Home a Lost Toddler
Michigan mother Brooke Case is extremely thankful to the family dogs who have been glued to her daughter, Thea, since birth. Buddy is a large Rottweiler, and Hartley is a Springer Spaniel. These two dogs have proven that they will help this little girl whenever possible.

Just after 7:30 PM on a Wednesday, Thea was outside with the dogs and her uncle, who was power washing. He told the little girl to head inside and put some shoes on, but when his gut said to check on her, she was not there. They searched for 30 minutes for Thea and the dogs before calling 911. Quickly, the state police established a grid to search. After five hours, they located the little girl sleeping on one of the dogs with the other standing guard. She was more than three miles from home. The dog growled when approached by the stranger.

Thankfully, Thea returned home and greeted her mother like nothing had happened. Despite walking three miles, Thea had zero scratches on her feet or her body. Brooke is so grateful for the dogs and everyone who helped search and get her daughter home safely.

We are sure that Hartley and Buddy are being showered with treats and affection. Clearly these pups have a special bond with that family and used their intuitions to keep her safe.

Foster Organization in the Rocky Mountains
Animal Rescue of the Rockies has been operating for 20 years serving as an alternative to shelters for dogs in the Colorado area. They have successfully fostered and placed over 10,000 dogs and cats to date. Fostering allows animals to be socialized while looking for a forever home, and ensures a smoother transition when the time comes for adoption.

Organizations like Animal Rescue of the Rockies helps to keep animals out of the shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized. Thanks to the incredible fosters and volunteers, dogs are given a chance to find the right home, even if it takes a little longer.

Coffee is pictured below. He is a self-proclaimed couch potato weighing around four pounds. Check out their adoptable animals page if you are looking for a dog (or you fell in love with Coffee!). You can also help them cover the costs for the dogs and cats in their care and ensure they can help more in this new year.

Famous Works Of Art That Feature Dogs
Canine companions have inspired artists throughout history, resulting in timeless works of art that capture the essence of loyalty, playfulness, and the enduring bond between humans and dogs. Notable masterpieces featuring our four-legged friends include:
  • Sir Edwin Landseer's "The Monarch of the Glen" (1851): While primarily a depiction of a majestic stag, Landseer's inclusion of a faithful dog at the stag's side adds a touch of companionship.

  • Pablo Picasso's "Woman with a Dog" (1961): In this modern masterpiece, Picasso's abstraction skillfully portrays the connection between the woman and her canine companion, emphasizing emotion over realism.

  • Frida Kahlo's "Self-Portrait with Small Monkey and Parrot" (1940): Though not exclusively focused on dogs, Kahlo's self-portrait features her beloved Xoloitzcuintli dogs, symbolizing loyalty and protection.

These artworks not only showcase the artistic versatility of dogs as subjects but also immortalize the profound relationships they share with humans, proving that a dog's presence can indeed be a masterpiece in itself.

Is Art A Barkworthy Investment?
When the painting by master Claude Monet (you may have heard of him) was bought for $6.8 million and sold for a cool $8 million just 631 days later, investors in shares of the offering received their share of the net proceeds.

All thanks to Masterworks, the award-winning platform for investing in blue-chip art. To date, every one of Masterworks' 16 sales out of its portfolio has returned a profit to investors. With 3 recent sales, investors realized net annualized returns of 17.6%, 21.5% and 35%.

How does it work? Simple, Masterworks files each offering with the SEC so that nearly anyone can invest in highly coveted artworks for just a fraction of the price of the entire piece.

Can't Trust a Dog Sibling Not to Tattle on You
Two-dog households are double the fun, plus you can sometimes get them to tattle on each other. The mom in this video asked her two dogs which one pooped in the kitchen. In just seconds, one dog pointed to the other so she wouldn't get in trouble. Rumor has it that the dog who quickly blamed the other was actually the culprit. It might be time to get a camera set up in this kitchen!
Does Your Pup Enjoy People Watching?
Dogs, known for their keen sense of observation and emotional intelligence, often find joy in people-watching. While they may not comprehend the nuances of human interactions as we do, dogs are highly attuned to body language, facial expressions, and vocal tones. This makes the act of observing people intriguing and engaging for them.

Dogs are naturally social animals, and watching people allows them to understand their human companions better. They can pick up on cues about their owners' moods, and intentions, and even predict activities such as walks or playtime. The varied sights and sounds of people going about their daily lives stimulate a dog's curiosity, providing mental stimulation and preventing boredom.

Furthermore, dogs are pack animals, and watching people fosters a sense of connection. Seeing their owners or familiar faces in the neighborhood establishes a bond and reinforces the dog's sense of belonging.

It's not just about the visual aspect; dogs also enjoy the olfactory experience of people-watching. The scents carried by the wind bring a wealth of information about the world, creating a multisensory experience that adds to their enjoyment.

In conclusion, dogs do find joy in people-watching. It satisfies their social nature, provides mental stimulation, and strengthens their connection with humans and the world around them. So, the next time you catch your canine companion gazing out the window or sitting in the park, know that they are enjoying watching the world go by!
