This year, Hobie won the prize. He is a terrier mix that has just one eye. Hobie was adopted by a couple who had just moved from Boston to Southern California. They were in search of another dog to help complete their family, and luckily Hobie came around at just the perfect time. Hobie was rescued from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico. He had severe glaucoma in one eye, and it eventually had to be removed. While at the shelter, he made best friends with the resident rabbit, so now, his new owners take him back to visit once a month. Hobie resembles an adorable teddy bear. Obviously, People's readers agreed because thousands voted this five-year-old terrier as World's Cutest Rescue Dog. As his prize, he will receive a year's supply of pet food and a $1,000 donation to the animal rescue of his choice. The family chose the rescue that Hobie came from, PUP Laguna Beach. It can be exhausting and frustrating, but it's obviously necessary. This owner was absolutely shocked when his dog really took potty training to the next level. This California man came downstairs in the morning and found that his child had gone to the bathroom in the training toilet. After thinking it was weird that his wife would not have cleaned it out, he realized upon review of the home camera footage that it wasn't the toddler using the toilet. His pup had been observing the toddler use the potty and decided to try it out himself. He circled the potty a few times and then squatted and pooped right into the toilet.
