Grubhub Driver Dropped Off Food and Left With a Surprise
Single dad Alan Moncayo was delivering for Grubhub one day and had a drop-off for the shelter manager at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. While there, he noticed Jihoo, a 65-pound pitbull mix, behind one of the windows.

He remembers making eye contact with this black-and-white pup and saying it was love at first sight. It was Jihoo's lucky day because Moncayo's daughter was accompanying him on a few deliveries, and she had been asking for a pet dog for a long time. He brought her to meet the dog, and they spent some time playing catch.

Jihoo was loved by the staff. He is very intelligent and affectionate, making him the perfect match for the father/daughter duo. The shelter held a special event where all adoption fees for dogs over 45 lbs were waived. Jihoo went home with them that day, and the family is in love
Tips to Get Your Dog to Stop Barking at Deliveries
Do you have a pup that loses it when you get an Amazon package or the mailman comes to your door? Barking is a form of communication, but it can make people coming to your door uncomfortable. Work with your dog to break the habits and stop barking whenever someone comes to the door with a delivery.
These tips should help:
  1. Reward the quiet. Using positive reinforcement, you can begin to correct the behavior. Give your dog a treat as soon as they are quiet. Stay consistent.
  2. Ignore the barking. Don't respond to them by talking to them when they bark. If you start speaking to them, they think you're joining in and will continue to bark. Don't open the door until they are quiet.
  3. Occupy their attention. Redirect your dog's attention by keeping their favorite toy nearby so you can throw it for them. Send them to their beds and tell them to wait until you open the door.
  4. Tire them out. Tired dogs are better behaved. Your dog should get enough mental and physical exercise each day. If they are bored, they are more likely to act out.
Try these tips and stay with them. The changes will not happen overnight, and consistency is needed. Before you know it, your dog will be best friends with your delivery driver, like the pups in the clip below.
