This Dog Must Be a Fan of The Lion King
Watch this incredible video captured of this golden retriever caught having a special moment with their toy. The ambiance of the fireplace in the background makes this even more precious. It definitely reminds us of the scene in The Lion King when they hold Simba up for the entire animal kingdom to see.
Throw a Scary Good Halloween Party for Your Dog
Halloween doesn't need to just be for humans. You can bring your dog in on the fun by throwing a Halloween party for your four-legged friends. Just read through these tips on how to throw the best party and get planning. The holiday is just around the corner.
  1. Send invitations. Invite your dog's best friends. Keep the group small to stay stress-free.
  2. Plan party activities. You can have a game where pups bob for tennis balls or have a mini trick-or-treat event where each human gets to hand something out.
  3. Set up decorations. Use pumpkins, spider webs, and glow sticks to embrace the spookiness.
  4. Dress up your pup. Choose a DIY costume or pick something up from the store and have a little parade to let each dog show off their costume.
  5. Make festive treats. Use one of the pumpkin treats we've shared or sliced and peeled apples.
  6. Prepare goodie bags for guests. Send your guests home with a new toy and some snacks to thank them for coming.
  7. Set up a photo op area. Use a simple backdrop and set out props so everyone can snap keepsake photos at the party.
  8. Bring out all the toys. Give the guests options and take advantage of your toy bin to entertain everyone.
  9. Provide a spot to relax. Some dogs need a space to chill out, especially if they are a bit anxious. Have some water bowls and a bed or two for dogs to take a break if needed.

Everything You Should Know About Littermate Syndrome
If you're thinking about getting a puppy, it's good to learn about littermate syndrome. There is often a desire to bring home more than one dog from the litter because you feel bad separating them from their siblings. But two puppies are double the work.

Littermate syndrome in dogs happens when two puppies from the same litter live together and develop a strong attachment to each other. This can interfere with their ability to interact with humans and other dogs normally when they are not together. Their bond becomes so intense that it's hard for them to connect with anyone else. This can affect dogs of any breed and even happens when you adopt two puppies at the same time from different litters.

Signs of littermate syndrome include excessive crying, whining, destruction, and lack of interest in playing with other people or pets. They will have high anxiety when separated from the other pet.

If you are experiencing this with your dogs, it's time to start working on it before it progresses. Start by gradually separating them and socializing them with other dogs. The best way to prevent this is to avoid adopting two puppies at the same time.
