What do Chihuahuas and human babies have in common? (scroll to the bottom to find the answer!) | | | The Dog Ate My Passport? A couple from Massachusetts was just a week from their dream wedding in Italy when they left home to run errands, and pick up last-minute marriage documents and travel items. While they were out, their one-and-a-half-year-old Golden Retriever, Chickie, caused some serious trouble. Chickie chewed on the groom's passport and ripped out some pages. With international travel for their wedding just a few days later, Frattaroili worked with his congressman and senator to help expedite a new passport. Luckily, the new documents came right before they were scheduled to leave. Chickie is staying home with friends while her parents get married. Hopefully, she doesn't cause any trouble at the sitters. | | Image courtesy of The Dogington Post. | | Need A Last Minute Halloween Costume For Your Pup? While there are many opinions, this author shares five reasons it's a good idea. - Healing and rehabilitation. If your dog has to undergo any surgery or procedures, it might be best to let them sleep next to you to help keep an eye on them while they recover. Extra snuggles always help.
- Monitoring health conditions. Some dogs have health concerns as they age, and owners want to monitor things.
- Comfort and emotional bonding. Having your dogs sleep near you improves your emotional bond with them.
- Enhanced sleep quality. Dogs have a calming influence and reduce stress.
- Improved safety and security. Dogs are protective and can alert you of intruders or potential threats.
If you decide to make this the norm in your house, having some ground rules is good. For example, no playing with toys on the bed or only coming up when invited.
