(scroll to the bottom to find the answer!) | | | A School Bus for Dogs Many kids are back in school now for the year, but what about the dogs? In Alaska, some dogs are lucky enough to ride their own school bus to daycare. This video shows them patiently waiting until the bus arrives and then climbing abroad to continue their journey. What a fun adventure for them (and the lucky bus driver). | | Dog of the Day: Meet Ally, Robin, and Little This happy trio is lucky enough to live in Central Florida, where they can enjoy fun in the sun year-round. Study up on these breeds ahead of time, and you might find the perfect fit for your household. Many times, dogs end up in shelters because people weren't educated ahead of time about the commitment it takes to train a dog. So, take your time and make sure it's the right thing for your family. - Staffordshire Bull Terriers - Staffys make loving and loyal family pets. They are known to be very gentle and caring with children. The breed used to be trained as a fighting dog, which gave them a bad reputation, but their popularity as family pets is rising.
- Huskies - These loving and cuddly dogs are beautiful but require a lot of food and exercise each day. If they don't get enough activity, they can act out. If you've got experience with dogs, a husky could be a great fit.
- Doberman Pinschers - This breed is loyal and affectionate. Their temperament also makes them good guard dogs because they are alert and proud.
- German Shepherds - These hard workers are often used as police and military dogs. They are incredibly intelligent and protective. Providing sufficient training is important, and they will be excellent dogs.
- Terriers - Some people pick out these terriers, thinking that they will be cuddly lap dogs because of their size. But terriers are high energy and require exercise. The breeds are incredibly stubborn, but their brains are excellent, and with a solid training plan, they are fantastic pets.
- Greyhounds - These beautiful dogs require a lot of exercise and activity. They are also known for dealing with separation anxiety and are nervous around new people. Many rescues wind up with retired race dogs who are struggling to adjust.
- Border Collies - This is one of the smartest breeds, but they require a healthy amount of exercise and mental stimulation. If you can keep these working dogs busy, they make incredible pets.
