| | Do Dogs Smile? | Do dogs really smile? It's something we've all wondered as we catch our pups looking at us with their mouths open, lips pulled back, and teeth showing. I know I've seen my own pup looking at me with a smile. What else could it be? Are they actually smiling, or are we humans projecting a little? Let's dive in and see if those doggo grins are the real deal! | Here's the scoop: while most animal behaviorists don't consider a dog's "smile" the same as ours, they do acknowledge that dogs can certainly look happy and relaxed when their mouths are open and their faces soft. A dog's "smile" can be their way of panting, cooling off, or simply being at ease. Some dogs also give what's known as a "submissive grin," drawing back their lips as a sign of respect to show they mean no harm. | And there's a fascinating twist: scientists think dogs learn to "smile" by observing us. Over thousands of years, they've become experts at reading human emotions, and when we smile at them, they often respond by mimicking our expressions to keep us happy (could dogs be any more perfect?). So, when you smile and your dog gives you that familiar happy face, there's a good chance they're mirroring you! | So, the next time you catch your dog "smiling," go ahead and brag—they very well might be smiling for real! Does your pup smile at you? |

| | | Dog Drool: When to Worry and When to Wipe It Off | Dog drool. That's just a fact of dog life. Some days, my dog drools more than others, which makes me wonder if something's wrong. For most drool-happy doggos, slobber is just part of the package—no need to panic! But if you're noticing more puddles than usual, it might be worth a closer look. Here are a few common reasons dogs drool and when to pay attention. | Drooly Breeds Some breeds are designed to drool! We all know those dogs with loose jowls and floppy lips: Mastiffs, Newfoundlands, Saint Bernards, Bulldogs. They tend to produce more saliva, which just doesn't stay contained. Excitement and Anticipation Ever notice a trickle of drool when your pup sees their favorite treat or is eyeing your lunch? Excitement around food can trigger those drool glands—totally normal. Oral Issues Sometimes, drooling can signal a toothache or gum irritation. Just like us, dogs can drool when they're dealing with dental discomfort. Regular brushing and check-ups can help keep that mouth happy and healthy. Tummy Trouble Whenever my particular trouble-making pup starts drooling, I know it's because he ate something he shouldn't have. Drooling often goes hand in hand with nausea, which is common when dogs get car sick or ingest something questionable. Definitely keep an eye on your pup if you're unsure what they ate (especially if it might be toxic). And if the drooling doesn't stop, make an appointment with the vet!
| Do you have a drooly dog? When do they start drooling? Remember, a little drool here and there is just part of the deal when living with a lovable pup! |

| | | This New Toilet Paper Just Might Save the Planet | Every 24 hours, 27,000 trees are cut down to make toilet paper. To us, that feels like way too many — and Honeycomb agrees. That's why this small, female-founded brand created luxury, three-ply toilet tissue made from bamboo. It feels just like regular high-end toilet paper, but doesn't harm trees. | So why bamboo? It's the fastest-growing plant in the world — growing 100 times faster than the average tree — which means thousands of rolls can be produced in the time it takes for a single tree to grow back. | Even better? Code DIG30 will give new customers 30% off their first order for the next 24 hours. | Get started here. |
