| | What Your Dog Actually Wants to Watch | You might have noticed that there are certain things that grab your pup's attention on the television. Maybe they've even tried to run off with your remote. It turns out that there are shows that dogs might prefer over others on the screen. According to a recent study from Applied Animal Behavior Study, dogs are most engaged when watching videos that feature other animals. | There isn't enough research done on canine vision, so it's hard to know exactly what they see when looking at the TV. The study created a questionnaire for dog owners to report their dog's TV habits. There were over 1,200 responses, and the study provided some helpful information. | Dogs were the most interested in watching other dogs on screen, but humans came in just 9th out of 17 categories. A dog's age and vision impact their interest in the screen. Movement on screens is a big draw. There are some breeds that engage with TV more than others.
| So, next time you leave the TV on for your pup, consider finding a channel that they might actually enjoy. |

| | | Dog Breeds That Love Watching TV (and Some That Don't) | As we mentioned above, there are some breeds that are more interested in watching screens than others. This could be explained by prey drive, curiosity, or just better eyesight. Here are the seven breeds that love watching TV: | Jack Russell Terrier Golden Retriever Border Collie Cocker Spaniel Poodle Labrador Retriever Springer Spaniel
| In addition to those TV-loving breeds, a few breeds regularly hang out at the bottom of the list. They just aren't interested in the television or screens and prefer other activities. They include the Shih Tzu, Chow Chow, Basenji, Bulldog, and Basset Hound. Does your pup hang out and watch TV with you? |

He's just a puppy in this picture at 6 months old, but he's already weighing around 60 lbs. | Once he's all grown, he'll be responsible for guarding the family's flock of chickens. He's learning to hang out near them and play. His favorite time of day is kiddie pool time, but it looks like he might be outgrowing his pool soon. Thanks for sharing! |
