I'm not sure how it all came about other than an invition and a little internal conversation that went something like this---how often to you get an invitation to foreign country by a special friend? What is stopping you from going? Can you afford this? and a host of other questions.
So me being the cautious person, starting calling close friends and asking them the same questions...it was unanimous...GO!!!
So after checking airfare online at kayak.com I was amazed how inexpensive airfare was. In fact it was cheaper to fly to my final destination, than it was to fly to the connecting city, even though it was another 2,200 miles further. The difference in cost was well over $200.00...go figure. I wonder if a person could just go a.w.o.l. from the connecting airport, providing they had all the necessary paperwork in order, and then just take the return ride home. I'm not suggesting this but....
I think I will drag this mystery on a little longer, at least until I get out of Colville. Those that I've told about this adventure, can you keep a secret? Not a word to anyone :)
